Most recently, Make Up For Ever sent me this complimentary VoxBox through Influenster, a subscription I subscribe to. Upon arrival I was so overjoyed to receive products from one of my all time favorite brands, plus lipsticks at that. I love lipstick. Who doesn’t?
I adore lipsticks be it old school solid tube versions, or pigmented glossed to liquid matte finishes!
What’s unique about this gift is that it contained three (3) lipstick shades from Make Up For Ever’s latest collection, the Artist Rouge Collection (#MyArtistRouge). The three shades you can find below, but needless, overall, I absolutely love the fact they incorporated French into the mix. Rouge, if you didn’t know is another word for lip stain or red. And classic lipsticks dating back in time were always red. So for your history heads out there, just thought I’d spit some 411 facts and keep you “A La Mode“.
Anyway before I showcase, I want to say thank you Make Up For Ever & Influenster for making it happen. Seriously this box made my day when I received it after a long day of work!
Below are some of the photos I did of unboxing and swatching. Afterwards, stay tuned for my review & opinion of lipsticks that were sent to me free !
I wore two out of the three because um, white is unflattering, however white is a crucial color to have to help lighten colors – duh (color theory)! Anyway, packaging is absolutely amazing; definitely sturdy and not cheap, so cap will stay on and protect your lipstick. You can tell it’s not your average container because you can feel t he weight. Color selection, I had to do some research online and by going into Sephora. The range of colors are extensive. Anyone is sure to fall in love with at least 2-3 shades hands down, if not more. Application, I found was very smooth when applying. The color deposit/ pigmentation is consistent throughout product. These lipsticks are very creamy and not drying, including the matte shades. I do like when I wear lipstick that the color stays true and it really did. Longevity, I found the colors I wore lasted hours, but needed touching up. For sure the product is lightweight and I forgot I even had lipstick on, so when I did a face check using my compact mirror at work, my lips were the first thing that jumped out because I know the nature of my job position where I work consist of dealing with lots of food, running around and heavy communication. I admit I sneak food into my mouth every now and then, so I guess eating is part of my job description. So yes, I was shocked and impressed because I didn’t think it would keep up, but I was proven wrong. Overall, would I recommend lipsticks from this collection… for sure. Definitely give this 4.5/5 rating.
