The Kat Von D Shade + Light Palette is a wonderful highlight and contour palette for all people. Many women of color would probably say otherwise but I beg to differ. I worked seasonal at Sephora for a few months this past winter and it was my go to palette for everyone. When my time was up, I decided to invest in this palette for my personal kit. I’ve since adopted it for myself because I love it. It turns out to be very woman of color friendly with some exceptions.
What I find most admirable about the Kat Von D Shade + Light palette is that it covers all tones. If you know how to dip and dabble between powders and understand color theories, you’re set. The finish is impeccable over the right foundation. This palette leaves you with a good, seamless coverage because the powders are very fine. If you’re wondering about flashback, there is none. My favorite foundation pairings are CoverFX, NARS, and AJ Crimpson. At $46 dollars for 6 shades (3 highlights & 3 contours), it’s an even bigger steal. Not to mention the palette is refillable. You can find it here on Sephora website.
And of course I would most certainly recommend the Kat Von D Shade + Light Palette to every makeup artist/junkie like myself. If you own or have worked with this product, let me know your thoughts. Feel free to leave any questions below.
