DIY Makeup Remover

So last night as I got home and settled in, I realized my makeup remover got misplaced, so how the hell was I going to remove my makeup in orderly manner?! I mean I hate the messiness of going head in with soap & water.

Off a whim, I thought, “lotion?” Then I went into my kitchen to grab a sheet of paper towel & proceeded to lotion/moisturize the piece of paper with lotion. I thought for a second, “Who does this? Hopefully this works.” I proceeded to gently dampen face, especially my eye area using paper & immediatly as I carefully wiped away, making sure not to irritate my skin, it worked – makeup was coming off with complete ease.

The most remarkable discovery is the fact that some of the makeup I had on was 12/24hr waterproof makeup by MAC and I had no issues. Infact the lotion I used was the lotion I currently carry in my purse, Lubriderm (dermatologist tested/recommended). I mean I didn’t have to apply any pressure to remove my fully beat face of makeup, even the matte lipstick I had come off, along with my Anastasia Beverly Hills defined brows, my Smashbox mascara, Becca highlighter etc! This discovery was too good for me to keep to myself, I mean I’m not sure if anyone else has tried this method but I imagine the benefits of being able to practically lotion off my makeup (remove & moisturize skin at same damn time) with out greasy residue left behind from average remover!

So next time you’re out of luck with makeup remover, forgot it at home while traveling, or if you simply don’t typically use it at all, I HIGHLY recommend a good lotion and plain white sheet of paper towel. Trust me, you will be amazed! Yay me & cheers to new makeup discovery 🙂
